Title insurance is a type of insurance provided by a one-time premium paid to protect your real estate investment. Unlike an aging roof or defective siding that you might be able to see, title problems may not show up in a title search, but they may come up later after you have purchased the property, can jeopardize your ownership, and present a roadblock to selling your property.
